Yes. Obtaining an approval for Granny Flat is a straightforward and easy process. The Australian government has introduced Complying Development applications in order to encourage construction of Granny Flats.
Under the Complying Development, approvals can be approved within 14 days. In case that your property is not suitable for Complying Development, then a Development Application can be lodged with your local Council.
